It All Started With
a Single Patch of Land

We didn't set out to change the world. We just wanted to heal our own little piece of it. Welcome. We’re the family behind Wurzelhelden e.V., and this is our story.

From Our Family to Our Forest

For us, this journey is rooted in family. It began on our own small piece of land—a place we wanted to nurture and bring back to life. We started by maintaining the trees, clearing what was damaged, and reforesting, sapling by sapling.

We got our hands in the soil, and something magical happened. We didn’t just grow a forest; the forest grew us.

We felt an incredible enthusiasm watching it transform. We saw life return. That spark lit a fire in us. We started looking around, seeing so many other areas in need of help: empty agricultural fields, forests scarred by damage, land that was just waiting for someone to give it a new purpose.

At first, it was just us, a family on a weekend mission. But we knew we couldn't be the only ones who felt this way.

The Birth of the "WurzelHelden" (Root Heroes)

In 2025, we decided to take a leap of faith. What if we could invite others to share this feeling? What if our small family project could become a community movement?

That’s when we founded Wurzelhelden e.V.

We wanted to create a way for everyone to contribute to this greater cause. And we’ve been overwhelmed by the response. Today, we have a growing base of enthusiasts—fellow "Root Heroes"— who support this mission with incredible passion.

Our Philosophy: One Tree at a Time

This isn't our 9-to-5 job; it's our 5-to-9 passion. We pour our hearts and personal time into this mission because we truly believe in it.

Our goal is simple: to grow our community, Wurzelheld by Wurzelheld, tree by tree. We believe that many small, passionate actions can create a massive, lasting impact.

This isn't an exclusive club. This is an open invitation.

  • You can be a Wurzelheld by planting a single tree.

  • You can be a Wurzelheld by gifting a tree, giving someone a present that truly grows.

  • Your company can be a Wurzelheld by gathering your team and joining us in the field.

All are welcome. All it takes is the desire to make a difference.
